Friends,
We've had some cold days here in Iowa recently - but that hasn't stopped Iowans from coming to meet with me at town halls and other stops on my travels across Iowa's Third District.
In addition, I've been hard at work in the halls of Congress - introducing new legislation to help alleviate the supply chain bottlenecks Iowans are facing, support our local manufacturing industry, cut off tax giveaways for Big Pharma, and more.

A Busy Week Around Iowa!
Iowans from Madison County came out to my 74th town hall in Earlham earlier this week, where we discussed the Build Back Better Act, infrastructure, inflation, and more.
When I'm in Washington, I'm always counting down the days until I can get back to Iowa and hear from the families and workers who are keeping our great state going.
This week has been no exception - and despite some brisk days, I visited five different counties in Iowa's Third Congressional District to hear concerns and stories directly from you - the Iowans that I represent in Washington.
I held a town hall in Earlham — my 74th since coming to Congress —and spoke to Iowa moms and dads, small business owners and workers at our local ethanol and power plants, and others who shared important information critical to the work I'm doing on your behalf in D.C.
If you missed one of my public events this week, you can always write directly to me by clicking here.
I made a stop at the Greenfield Hotel in Adair County on my travels around Southwest Iowa this week.
Fighting for Policies that Help Middle Class Iowans
Did you know that those prescription drug ads you see every night on T.V. or online are subsidized by your tax dollars?
Big pharmaceutical companies, who spend billions on advertising directly to you every year, are allowed to write those expenses off on their tax bill. But they're turning around and raising the costs of those medications for you and your family, and making record profits while they're at it.
I wrote a bill to change that, and end those tax breaks for Big Pharma.

I also introduced legislation recently to help address supply chain bottlenecks before they begin and support manufacturers who are producing goods in Iowa and across the U.S.
I've been advocating for my Supply Chain Solutions Agenda in Congress to help address the rising prices Iowans are facing. But supply chain solutions don’t just come in the form of transit and port upgrades. Building a sustainable and resilient supply chain also means making more critical products and components here at home.
My bill, the Supply Chain Resiliency Act, would create funding sources for U.S. manufacturers who are making the goods at home that Iowans need and that are getting harder to get from overseas.

Need COVID-19 Tests that You Can Take at Home?
I've heard stories from Iowans having difficulty finding at-home COVID-19 tests, especially if you're trying to get a test without exposing yourself to unnecessary risk.
To help, the federal government and U.S. Postal Service have teamed up to provide free at-home tests that will delivered straight to your mailbox.
Order tests for you and your family at: covidtests.gov
If you have difficulty accessing the internet or need additional support placing an order, you can also call 1-800-232-0233.
This is how much you'll pay for tests through the Postal Service!
Be well,
Cindy
