Dear John,
Tell President Biden to keep his campaign promise and nominate the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court—sign the petition now.
During his campaign, President Biden pledged to nominate the first Black woman to serve on our nation's highest court.1 There are exceptional and experienced Black women who are ready to serve on the Supreme Court, replacing retiring Justice Stephen Breyer. And with the Supreme Court losing legitimacy in the eyes of the public for its increasingly radical right-wing rulings, we need to add balance and diversity to the bench.
This is President Biden's chance to nominate someone who’ll fight for the vulnerable and bring to the right-wing packed court a critical perspective that’s reflective of the communities of color who are so often marginalized and targeted in our politics.
Sign the petition now calling on President Biden to swiftly fulfill his campaign promise and pick an exceptional Black woman Supreme Court nominee to make history.

Mitch McConnell and the Republicans are already planning to steal another Supreme Court seat by blocking President Biden’s pick. The president and Democrats must act swiftly and decisively to nominate and confirm an exceptional Black woman for the Supreme Court—before right-wing disinformation or Mitch McConnell's power grabs can get in the way. We know a Black woman will face racism and vitriol from right-wing opponents, and we need to be prepared to have her back.
We’ve already seen the right-wing Republican power grabs that have packed the court with Trump's pro-corporate, anti-justice nominees. A first step to correcting this imbalance is nominating a dynamic, skilled, progressive Black woman who will fight for the rights of individuals and communities and rise up against big corporate money.
Add your name: Tell Biden to fulfill his campaign promise to nominate the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court.
Thanks for all you do,
