Yet another challenger just announced that he is planning to announce an
official challenge to Jamaal in Congress — noting that "Bowman is too far
left to get re-elected" and that "Democrats in Westchester don't want a
progressive representing them in Washington".

In response, our teams have set an end-of-month goal of raising an
additional $20,000 over email by January 31 in order to strengthen our
campaign against this challenge to our movement.

This challenge announcement came on the heels of the news around Jamaal's
arrest in Washington during a protest — and while we've anticipated a
challenger to Jamaal's seat, we're now facing two, with rumblings of more
to come. Jamaal may be in a "blue" district — but we can't afford to act
like re-election is a given,
John. We need to double down
on our efforts to ensure that Jamaal is successful come the primary
elections.

In 2020, a whopping total of more than $5.2 million was spent to stop
Jamaal — more than any other Democratic primary challenger in history. And
two years later, we can expect this number to match or grow in the 2022
election cycle. So it's crucial that we continue making critical
investments to grow our movement in order to fight back against this new
challenger.

While competitive races can't be won on money alone, the truth is 88% of
congressional races are won by the candidate who raised the most money.
And as a grassroots movement, we won't rely on corporate PACs or special
interests to help bankroll our campaign to victory.
