“Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer plans to retire”
— CNN
Team: Yesterday, we learned that Justice Stephen Breyer plans to retire from the Supreme Court after 27 years of service.
From protecting affordable health care to standing up for reproductive rights, Justice Breyer is leaving behind a strong legacy — I’m thankful for his decades of inspiring service on the Court.
Now, we must look forward. Make no mistake: Voting rights, equal rights, and women's rights are all on the line at the Supreme Court. If a life of public service has taught me anything, it's that progress is hard won, and it must be protected at all costs.
So as we begin the process of confirming a new justice to the Court, please know that I’m committed to confirming a strong nominee — one who will uphold the law, serve the people, protect our progress, and fight for what’s right.
News like today’s proves just how important protecting our Senate majority really is. We can’t allow Mitch McConnell to reclaim the majority and ram through another right-wing justice who will help roll back our progress.
Your support is critical to helping our team not only protect and expand the Democratic majority this November, but also protect our democratic institutions from right-wing attacks. Will you chip in to support our efforts?
