John,
Today marks two years since Virginia ratified the Equal Rights Amendment, becoming the 38th and final state needed to enshrine it into the U.S. Constitution. Today, the Equal Rights Amendment should have become the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. And because of a Trump-era legal memo blocking it’s recognition, we’re still fighting for the ERA to become codified into law.
And while today is momentous for women all across our country, there is a war being waged against us, as our freedoms are being stripped from us. States like Texas, Florida, and Mississippi are restricting access to abortion, endangering our reproductive freedom. We’re still making only 79 cents to the man’s 1 dollar, and that number drops even more for women of color.
John, I've been fighting for equality since the day I began my career in public service, and it’s a fight I refuse to back down from. But I’m in a tough race, and I need to make sure my team reaches our fundraising deadline so I can keep fighting back against the heinous attacks on our rights.
My team set a goal of raising $8,000 by Monday at midnight, and we can’t afford to fall behind. Can you chip in $10 now to help keep me fighting for you in Congress?

Throughout my entire career, I’ve been a champion of the Equal Rights Amendment, and I’ve consistently fought for women to be treated equally in the eyes of the law. And right now, the GOP is on the attack, rolling back the clock on all of the progress we’ve made towards achieving equality.
That’s why it’s so important that I remain fighting for so many women in Congress. And in order for me to do just that, we have to win in 2022.
It’s going to be a tough race, John, but I know with you on our team we can win this race.
Please, chip in $10 now and help keep me fighting for equality for all.
Thanks for standing with me.
Carolyn Maloney
