For far too many South Carolinians, our criminal justice system doesn't provide justice at all.
How can we succeed when people in our state are being victimized by those who are supposed to protect them?
In the General Assembly, I sponsored the Transparency in Justice Act to take on this issue. I took action to ban no-knock warrants and chokeholds, and end qualified immunity for members of law enforcement who kill civilians without justification.
And as your governor, I will elevate the fight for justice by addressing the systemic factors that disproportionately impact Black and brown people, as well as those that create unsafe environments for all South Carolinians.
