Today, January 27th marks five years since Donald Trump first enacted the Muslim Ban. Thanks to your support, Muslim Advocates and so many other groups from across many communities banded together to fight back until the ban was rescinded last year. However, that fight isn’t over and we still need your help.
Five years later, the Muslim Ban still looms over American Muslims and a future president could still revive it or enact other, similar bans. We can’t let this happen and, thankfully, there’s a solution.

Muslim Advocates has successfully worked with members of Congress like Sen. Chris Coons (D-CT) and Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) to support the NO BAN Act, a bill that
would close dangerous loopholes in our immigration laws by preventing future presidents from enacting another Muslim Ban or other immigration bans based on faith or nationality. Last year, a bipartisan House majority [[link removed]] passed the bill and now the U.S. Senate needs to pass it so that President Biden can sign it into law.

Over 41,000 people were banned between January 2017 and January 2021 until President Biden ended the Muslim Ban. Countless more were impacted as families were separated, refugees were denied refuge and the mental and physical toll of state-sanctioned racism wreaked havoc with American Muslims’ lives. Lauren Boebert [[link removed]] and Marjorie Taylor Greene [[link removed]] —as well as the Republican leadership’s total failure to repudiate this dangerous hate—prove that the same anti-Muslim politics that helped propel Donald Trump to the White House are alive and well. The threat that another president could revive the Muslim Ban is very real.

So please sound the alarm to your senators, share our infographic and enlist your friends and family. We must do everything we can now to ensure that the Muslim Ban remains confined to the dustbin of history.
