Friend,

You may have seen recent reports of stalled Senate negotiations on the Build Back Better Act — the budget reconciliation bill — and the ability for immigration relief to be included in this legislation. At the same time, Democratic Leadership, and the White House, have continued to commit to working together to pass this bill, including protections for immigrant families. The last few weeks have certainly had some disappointing developments, but this fight is far from over.

The bottom line is, failure to pass this vital legislation, including immigration protections, is simply unacceptable. Senate Democrats cannot pretend that this terribly flawed, anti-democratic process is an excuse to stop urgently needed relief for millions of people. Families across the country are counting on our elected officials coming back together and working together to quickly find a solution and get this legislation to President Biden’s desk for his signature. Passing this legislation is not just the right thing to do — it would also boost the economy, raise tax revenue, help relieve the current worker shortage, raise wages for all Americans, and strengthen the nation’s competitiveness.

Will you sign this pledge demanding Democratic senators protect American families?: [link removed]

To get this done, it’s up to every single Democratic senator to act — to follow through on their commitment to deliver citizenship for millions of families across the country. There are still a number of options for Democrats to secure immigration relief for millions of people in the Build Back Better Act. They cannot use a clearly flawed process as an excuse to avoid pursuing every option available to ensure immigration relief is included. No more excuses.

The BBB Act currently includes over 100 billion dollars for immigration relief. This funding must remain in the bill and be used to provide relief to immigrant communities. Congress must protect this funding in the bill, and ensure it is used to provide urgently needed relief for immigrant families and communities.

I hope you’ll join us as we hold senators to their promises. Sign our petition here: [link removed]
