A few weeks ago, voters in North Carolina’s 13th district exclaimed that they did NOT want Madison Cawthorn on their ballot due to his involvement in what happened on January 6th.

Now, there is the possibility that the 14th amendment could be invoked against Cawthorn to disqualify him from holding office for his role in inciting the insurrection.

If successful, this could set a precedent for other insurrectionists in Congress, such as Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert, to also be barred from running for re-election.

But we can’t rely on the 14th amendment to give these extremists the boot. We have to work hard to elect Democrats in their place.

Candidates Jasmine Beach-Ferrara – a gay woman, Christian minister, and county commissioner, Marcus Flowers – an army veteran, patriot, and defender of the Constitution, and Donald Valdez – a farmer, rural Coloradan, and state legislator, are all running for Congress to replace Cawthorn, Greene, and Boebert respectively.

This is our opportunity to help them win.

We need to protect our House majority and replace these Trump acolytes with representatives who actually care about fighting climate change, protecting voting rights, and providing affordable healthcare.
