Brindisi Bugle
Team --
Welcome to the first issue of the Brindisi Bugle!
Here at Anthony Brindisi for Congress HQ, we’re running a true grassroots operation where transparency is key. So, to make sure you’re up-to-date on everything Anthony is working on in congress and beyond, we’re sharing his biggest accomplishments directly with you!
Keep reading to get an inside look at how Anthony is putting Upstate New Yorkers first in Congress and to learn how you can support his work:
Expanding Support for Veterans
Anthony has been working for us for less than one year, and already, he’s delivering results for our district’s more than 50,000 veterans. Last month, his bipartisan bill to extend health services to more veterans was signed into law! The legislation will ensure low-income veterans living in rural communities have the financial support they need to travel to receive their health care benefits.
Lowering the Costs of Health Care
Skyrocketing health care costs have forced too many seniors to sacrifice their financial security in order to take life-saving prescription drugs. We need to provide them with stable, affordable, and accessible health care coverage. To drive down these cost increases, Anthony is working with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents allies who will work to repeal the Health Insurance Tax -- a tax that disproportionately hurts those who rely on Medicare.
Standing up for Women
To commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, Anthony visited advocates at the Binghamton YWCA while putting pressure on Mitch McConnell to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. For decades, domestic violence survivors across the country have relied on federal funding to find shelter and safety from abuse.
If you’re with Anthony in this fight, sign our petition demanding Mitch McConnell brings this important legislation to the Senate floor.
Investing in Mental Health Care
This week, Anthony hosted a rural mental health care summit to bring together mental health experts and Upstate New Yorkers who lack access to the care and resources they need. To ensure families living in rural communities have the same resources as those in urban areas, Anthony is also advancing legislation to destigmatize mental health care and implement stress management training programs.
