Dear John,
Earlier this month, we shared our refreshed Ipas brand. You can learn more about it here.
We remain the bold and unwavering champions for abortion rights that we’ve always been, but we’re reshaping Ipas to become more just and equitable—and to center our work closest to the people we serve. This will strengthen our ability to tackle the fundamental gender, health and economic inequities that block access to abortion and will raise up new and diverse voices in the global movement for reproductive justice.
Next year, Ipas will reach a major milestone: our 50-year anniversary. And as of this month, I’m honored to have been part of the Ipas team for 20 years. I’m incredibly inspired when I look back at all we’ve accomplished, and I’m so excited for what’s to come.
Over the past two decades, our work has evolved to address the many factors that affect a person’s access to abortion. Abortion laws and trained providers are important, but do not alone guarantee access for all. So, we’ve created a comprehensive approach, working with partners both local and global to build sustainable abortion ecosystems that broaden equity and access in abortion care—and support bodily autonomy for all.
I’m truly grateful for your continued interest in and support of Ipas’s work. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together in 2022 and beyond.
Your partner for reproductive justice,
Anu Kumar
Ipas President and CEO
