Dear Friend,
Will New York elect an evictor-in-chief? Or a champion of the people? New York Communities for Change is proud to stand with Jumaane Williams for Governor and I hope you will too! Click here to learn more about his campaign.
Jumaane Williams has been fighting side by side with our members since he was a tenants rights organizer, running Tenants and Neighbors. From City Council to the Public Advocate’s office, Jumaane has never stopped fighting for our communities. And he will bring that dedication to everyday working New Yorkers with him to Albany. Click here to learn more about Jumaane.
New York is still reeling from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. People continue to get sick and die. Unemployment in New York remains high. And since Governor Kathy Hochul let the eviction moratorium expire, thousands of families who fell behind on rent during the pandemic are in danger of eviction.
It’s clear why Governor Hochul isn’t on our side. Just look at her campaign contributions. When your campaign is backed by real estate developers and big business, that’s who’s interests you’re going to serve. Jumaane has been fighting with us since day one. We know him and Jumaane knows us.
The election is on June 28th. Make no mistake: Jumaane is up against a very well-funded corporate Democrat, which is why we must get off the sidelines and build grassroots support for his campaign. Click here to get involved.
Best,
Jonathan Westin
