It’s been nearly 120 days since Gretchen and Garlin introduced their proposals to take Michigan forward on the path to opportunity. But Republicans in Lansing have different ideas: Instead of investing in public education, they want to cut K-12 education funding by $271,000,000.00 compared to the governor’s budget. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

But Republicans in Lansing have different ideas: Instead of investing in public education, they want to cut K-12 education funding by $271,000,000.00 compared to the governor’s budget. Instead of working with us to clean up lead pipes and contaminated water, they want to cut $120,000,000.00 from Gretchen and Garlin’s budget for water infrastructure.
Gretchen and Garlin also put forth a plan to fix the damn roads. Lansing Republicans instead rushed to pass legislation to restrict women’s reproductive health services.
Gretchen and Garlin aren’t backing down. If you’re with them in the tough fights ahead, we’re asking you to donate toward tonight’s End of Quarter fundraising goal. We still need to bring in $5,918 and we won’t be able to do that in time without your help.
