Dear John,

We would like to personally invite you to join us for an evening with Wajahat Ali, NY Times op-ed contributor, lawyer, comedian, and actor. We’re thrilled to team up with Wajahat and proud to have MPAC President, Salam Al-Marayati, share remarks at his upcoming book tour event, Go Back to Where You Came From: An Evening with Wajahat Ali on Monday, January 31 at 6pm PT / 9pm ET.

This free livestream discussion will feature comedian/actor/author Maz Jobrani (I'm Not a Terrorist But I've Played One on TV), attorney/advocate/author Rabia Chaudry, and will be moderated by NPR journalist Tonya Mosley.

Register now for this lively discussion on racism, xenophobia, white supremacy, and loving a country that doesn’t always love you back.

In 2009, we recognized Wajahat as a rising American Muslim artist for “The Domestic Crusaders," the first major play about the American Muslim experience. It’s an honor for us to support the work of American Muslims like Wajahat, and uplift narratives and stories that are under constant assault of being censored.

Starting today, you can pre-order Wajahat’s new bookGo Back to Where You Came From And Other Helpful Recommendations on How to Become American. We hope you will take the time to read his book and attend Wajahat’s book tour event.

In Peace,

Sue Obeidi
Director, MPAC Hollywood Bureau
