Justice for her. Justice for all.

Dear John,

Today, several news outlets reported that Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is planning to retire.

It’s a moment we’ve been preparing for, and now we’re ready to fight to ensure that President Biden keeps his word and nominates a Black woman to fill Justice Breyer’s seat. But a nomination is just the beginning. We’ll need to use everything we have to ensure the Senate overcomes its partisan divide and acts quickly to fill this vacancy.

Will you join us by making a donation today? There’s so much at stake. [[link removed]]
The next Supreme Court justice must be committed to ensuring equality and justice under the law for all. Justice Breyer will leave behind a legacy of defending the Constitution—including the right to live free from discrimination and our fundamental right to abortion. Women across the country need another talented jurist on the bench who will uphold, defend, and restore our fundamental rights.

Make a donation and join the fight for a nominee who will push our country forward to a more just and equitable future. [[link removed]]

This is a critical moment. We live in a time when hostility toward the ideals Justice Breyer has fought for—liberty, democracy, freedom from discrimination, equality—is at a fever pitch. As we speak, the Supreme Court’s conservative majority is poised to undo so much of Breyer’s legacy as a staunch defender of abortion rights. That’s why we’re ready for a fight.

President Biden has already nominated a historically diverse slate of nominees to our federal courts. Now, he needs to continue that work by nominating the first Black woman to the Supreme Court. We’re prepared to push Biden to keep his word, and after that, we’ll push the Senate to confirm his nominee without obstruction or delay.

Let’s get to work—make a donation to the Law Center to help prepare for what lies ahead: an opportunity to help shape the Court all women deserve with a Black woman justice. [[link removed]]

We demand a nominee who will defend and strengthen our government’s commitment to equity and justice under the law. Thank you for being with us.

In gratitude,
Anna Chu
