Team,

This week, I joined nearly 30 of my House colleagues to voice our opposition to members of Congress owning or trading stocks while in office. Two pieces of legislation have already been introduced to address this issue: the Ban Conflicted Trading Act and the TRUST in Congress Act. I am proud to be a co-sponsor of both and I stand with my colleagues in calling for leadership to bring these bills to the House floor for a vote.

It’s simple, friend: I came to Congress to work for my constituents, not to make a profit. I would hope the same is true of my colleagues. This issue has overwhelming bipartisan support from voters and lawmakers alike, and it’s high time we do something about it.

If you support my work to prevent lawmakers from profiting off nonpublic information, I hope you’ll consider chipping in to my re-election campaign today.
