ICYMI: Today, Stephen Breyer announced his retirement from the Supreme Court.

Now is a historic opportunity for President Biden to fulfill his campaign promise to fill a Supreme Court seat with a Black woman. And it’s about time!

There is so much at stake with this announcement. Replacing Breyer with a young, Black woman will go a long way towards making the bench more representative of the American people. It will also secure a progressive seat as many of our fundamental rights are under attack. President Biden needs to move fast to shatter a glass ceiling that has existed for far too long.

We are ready to jump into action but want to hear from you: Should HBM use our resources to pressure Congress to fulfill Biden’s campaign promise?

We will be using these survey results in our efforts to hold Biden accountable for that campaign promise to ensure that the next Supreme Court Justice pick will be a Black woman – to get our country one step further to equal representation.

In solidarity,
