John, let’s have some real talk:
If we really want to fix things in our country, we need to expand our majority in the Senate by at least two seats… and the map is actually looking really good for Democrats this year. There are a lot of pick-up opportunities and critical races we could win.
But what is that going to do if we lose the House?? Our policy would be dictated by the far-right fringes of the Republican Party like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Speaker McCarthy would go right along with it.
Josh represents one of the five toss-up seats we need to win so we have the votes to keep the gavel with Democrats. Let’s be honest about the fact that we’re up against a lot in this election. History says that when a President’s party is in power, they usually lose seats. And our majority is razor-thin right now, even losing a single seat could cost us the majority.
Josh has already withstood millions of dollars of negative attack ads and now the Republicans are waging a massive Latino misinformation campaign online.
So yes, we have real challenges ahead. But we can’t let these obstacles stop us from making progress because we are so close to having the votes for paid family leave, voting rights, climate action, universal pre-k, and the list goes on. There is so much more we can accomplish if we do our part to keep the House but it’s going to take another historic effort like we saw in Georgia last year.
