Getting Back to Work Work Work Work

Polis is Saving Coloradans 💰

The COVID pandemic has made everything more expensive, from housing to energy to groceries.  That’s why Governor Polis in partnership with the state legislature is doing everything in their power to save Coloradans money.  Here are some of the ways Polis is putting money back our pockets:

  • Restaurants, bars and mobile food vendors were allowed to keep seven months of state sales tax collections during the pandemic
  • All four-year-olds will be able to attend  preschool for free, saving families from the high cost of preschool
  • Reduced health care premiums in the individual market by 24% through a new bipartisan state reinsurance program
  • Coloradans will get a TABOR refund this year and likely in future years

I’m Still Here with Colorado State Senator Chris Kolker

Colorado State Senator Chris Kolker was a prime sponsor of the 988 legislation that would implement the three digit number for crisis response services in Colorado, making the suicide prevention lifeline even more accessible for those experiencing a behavioral health crisis.  While there was broad support for this legislation, hearing the story of why it is so meaningful to Senator Kolker will bring a whole new appreciation to his work in suicide prevention.  Listen in as he shares his story, including a lifelong struggle with depression, battling stigma, and using his political platform to normalize conversations and education on mental health.

WHAT:  REMINDER - Progressive Democrats Initiative Monthly Meeting - Thursday, January 27, 7pm

CLIMATE CHANGE DEMANDS MORE THAN JUST WORDS

Treating the climate crisis as exclusively about fuel sourcing policy has led to a demand for "green energy" resources that threatens the earth and

the native peoples who seek to protect her.  It's far more than that.

Join the Progressive Democrats of Colorado at our monthly meeting with special guests, Colorado US Senate Candidate Karen Breslin, and Gary

McKinney, "Land Defender and Water Protector" fighting to protect ancestral homelands that include Peehee Mu'huh,  also known as Rotten Moon or Thacker Pass, slated to become one of the world's largest lithium mines in Northern Nevada.

Once again, ROX Productions is preparing to present another of their record-breaking FUNraiser livecasts, this time featuring three of Colorado's Executive Branch: AG Phil Weiser, SOS Jena Griswold, and CO Treasurer Dave Young.

ROX Productions won the 2021 Volunteer of the Year Award for their exciting, fast-paced, slickly-produced livecasts, raising funds for Democrat candidates up and down the ballot here in Colorado, as well as then-candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, and more. ROX Productions also co-produced the 4th Annual Obama Gala for our first virtual livecast. This all-volunteer team of talented professionals raised nearly a half-million dollars in funds for candidates and the party in 2021.

As always, this livecast event will feature live music, poetry, and fun short videos as well as time with our Colorado leaders.
