BREAKING NEWS, John: Supreme
Court Justice Stephen Breyer is retiring, leaving a vacant seat on the
Court.

This is a chance for President Biden and Democrats to shape the Supreme
Court — currently ruled by a 6-3 conservative majority — for generations
to come.

But with Justice Breyer’s SCOTUS seat up for grabs, it has NEVER been more
urgent to have a strong Democratic Senate majority, made up of Democrats
who vote like Democrats — including on Supreme Court nominees.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m proud to say I have five
litmus tests for any Supreme Court nominee. And really, these litmus tests
are just about the core bedrock principles all Democrats should embrace:

 1. Do you support the repeal of End Citizens United? Money in politics is
a cancer. Citizens United needs to go.
 2. Do you support a woman’s right to choose? The right to choose is
constitutionally protected, but is under siege in many states.
 3. Do you believe in the scientifically-supported consensus of climate
change? We can’t have somebody on the Supreme Court who just trusts
their gut ~because it snowed last week~ that we don’t have an issue on
climate.
 4. Do you support equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community? We have to
enumerate those rights and make sure they’re protected.
 5. Do you support a union’s right to organize? Because duh.

John, the
future of Roe and so many enormous issues will come down to the Supreme
Court, and Breyer’s retirement is a wake-up call. I need your help in this
race because whoever becomes Pennsylvania’s next U.S. Senator will be able
to cast a deciding vote to confirm or deny future Supreme Court nominees.
