Save Our Students from Obscene Materials! Our lobbying team has been at work - long before the start of legislative session - building support for our Save Our Students initiatives. One of the key bills in this agenda is SB 226 - aimed at providing transparency for and power to parents while ridding our schools of obscene materials.
Senate Bill 226, sponsored by Senator Jason Anavitarte, ensures that parents’ complaints about obscene materials can no longer be swept under the rug by administrators or school officials. It shines the spotlight of transparency on the public school system, and is crucially important as the next step in protecting students from sexualization by early exposure to obscene materials.
SB 226 passed the Senate last year, and we are working to take the next step in the process by moving it out of House Judiciary Non-Civil Committee. CLICK HERE to send emails to the members of the House Judiciary Non Civil Committee, telling them how important this is to you and all Georgians.
