Unions have changed through the years, to be sure.

But one thing about AFSCME — and all unions — has never changed: when you're in a union, you're never alone.

Fundamentally, unions are just working people agreeing to stand up for each other, to fight together to ensure we get respect for the work we do.

Since AFSCME's inception, our members have worked together for decent pay, benefits we deserve, and a secure retirement.

We stand together today for safer workplaces and fairness on the job. We are strong because we are together. Because we are never alone.
