Architects are some of the highest paid positions in the construction industry, but the extra years of University required to earn the credential have left the profession behind in terms of diversity. I'm stepping up to help change that with a scholarship for black and brown fifth year architecture students.

My dad is a landscape architect and to its credit, the American Institute of Architects is putting their money where their heart is and wants to invest part of their own licensing fees to fund this scholarship. Meaning, this doesn't cost the tax payers an extra dime. This is architects helping promote diversity within their own ranks.

Why am I even involved then? Well, because under state law (even though this is all internal to how architects use their existing licensing fee) this gets caught up in semantics by "tax-cutters" and therefore it wont be easy to pass. That's why I need your help! You can click below to head over to my 2022 Action Center to urge my colleagues and committee chairs to pass this common-sense bill. [[link removed]]

Thank you! This is a great bill to improve diversity in a high-wage field and another step forward in the long march towards justice.
