Sabato Crystal Ball released their newest rankings for AG races, and we’ve got to step it up.
Friend,
Sabato’s Crystal Ball Rankings, one of the most trusted political analysis groups in the country, just updated their rankings for the 2022 Attorney General races. We’ve got our work cut out for us this year.
Republicans have an advantage of 27 AG seats to our 23, and that margin is poised to get even bigger if we can’t defend Democratic incumbents in November.
This year Democrats have seven “Competitive” or “Potentially Competitive” AG seats to defend, while Republicans only have four. The GOP has an easier road ahead of them this year, and it will be an uphill battle to keep incumbent pro-choice, pro-democracy AGs in office.
But here’s the good news — we have a clear path forward if we:
Focus on critical elections that had close statewide races in 2018 and 2020
Invest early in on-the-ground organizing across each of these states
Go up early with advertising to spread the word about the important work that Dem AGs are doing
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in 2022, we need your support – will you chip in today?
