AG Miyares’ start as Virginia AG is going even worse than we expected.
Friend,
Just a few days ago, we told you about Virginia Republican AG Jason Miyares firing Virginia state employees who were working to make progress on critical issues in our justice system and our democracy.
On Sunday it came to light that AG Miyares fired Timothy J. Heaphy, the top lawyer for the University of Virginia and the top staff investigator on the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attacks.
Why would any State Attorney General try to use their office in a way that could risk undermining an investigation into a deadly insurrection attempt?!

Subject: 🚨Did you see what Virginia’s new Republican AG just did??
Friend,
Before he was even sworn into office, one of Virginia Republican AG Jason Miyares' first actions was to FIRE 30 PEOPLE AND DECIMATE CRITICAL WORK being done to:
overturn wrongful convictions,
protect civil rights and fair elections, and
fight back against human trafficking, dangerous living conditions, and the opioid crisis.
Now more than ever, we need state attorneys general who are fighting for the people – all people – and ensuring that our fundamental rights are protected and that we have a justice system that works for every person.
We can’t let far-right extremists like the newly sworn-in Republican AG in Virginia dismantle the progress we’ve made, or block the progress we must make now.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in 2022, we need your support – will you chip in today?
