Dear AFGE Community,
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) just released a “Guide to Writing Appeal Briefs for Unrepresented Complainants” to better assist federal employees without legal representation in filing EEO complaint appeals to the EEOC. This guide includes information about how to write, support, or oppose an appeal, sample briefs, templates, and a glossary of important terms.
The Office of Federal Operations will host a webinar on February 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. EST to discuss the guide in detail. Registration for the webinar is required: Guide to Appeal Brief Writing.
The Women’s and Fair Practices Departments work to ensure AFGE fulfills its commitment to equal opportunity and civil rights through education and training, member mobilization and organizing, legislative action, and representation through litigation. AFGE members may request representation in their EEO cases from WFP attorneys. Requests for representation can be made by filling out this form. More information about the criteria for representation can be found here.
If you would like to find out how you can receive assistance from the Women’s and Fair Practices Departments, please contact us by emailing [email protected].
In Solidarity,
Jeremy A. Lannan
