Up to now, the New York State government hasn’t done nearly enough to hold
fast fashion companies accountable for killing our planet.

That’s why Alessandra is sponsoring the Fashion Act this legislative
session. This legislation will regulate fashion companies that make over
$100 million in revenue per year and do business with the state of New
York.

If the Fashion Act is passed, fashion companies will:

- Be required to publish reports mapping their supply chains
- Share information on the environmental and social impacts of their
business
- Set targets to reduce the harmful impacts of their work
- Disclose what materials they are using
- Publicly report employee salaries

Any company that refuses to comply within one year of the bill’s passage
will face a fine of up to 2% of their total revenue.

The truth is that Alessandra will face significant pushback from major
fashion companies that would rather create endless profit for their CEOs
than improve their business practices. So we need your support:

hold fast fashion companies that are killing our planet accountable.

It’s absolutely necessary that we combat climate change for future
generations, and going up against multimillion dollar companies that put
profit before our planet is an important step.

All our best,
Team AB
