Oppose CRT [[link removed]]




I strongly oppose the teaching of Critical Race Theory in our school classrooms because it teaches an anti-American, Marxist narrative of American history. It teaches that an individual is either an oppressed victim or an oppressor based on the color of their skin. This is inappropriate to be teaching any child, and parents do not want it in their children's schools.




As Lt. Governor, I led the fight to pass legislation banning the teaching of CRT in our Texas public schools in the regular session, and I am proud of the even stronger legislation the Texas Senate passed during the special session with Senate Bill 3.




I stand with the majority of parents who oppose the teaching of CRT. Parents have the right to know what goes on in public school classrooms and to determine what their children are taught. I will stand up for parents to ensure their views are heard and respected by local school boards and administration.




In Texas, we are turning conservative policy into conservative legislation. The Democrats are trying to defeat me at the ballot box because they want to defend and expand teaching critical race theory in our public schools. And they will stop at nothing to defeat me in 2022.
