Peatlands Can Advance Climate Action in Southeast Asia

[link removed]

[link removed]

Southeast Asia holds over 54% of the world’s peatlands, which help control water flow and store carbon. The region currently faces massive deforestation that makes peatlands highly flammable, and fires in the area can turn this carbon sink into a carbon source. Authors Will Anderson, Ruchika Singh and Marie Duraisami explore six ways the ecosystem restoration movement can make sure projects put people at the center and promote equity. Learn more.
