The 2022 elections will be here sooner than you think. It feels like January went by in the blink of an eye, and in just 10 short months, we’ll know whether Congress will continue fighting for American families, small businesses, and investing in our future, or if voter suppression, corporate tax cuts, and fewer services will be the law of the land.

I won’t mince words, the 2022 election is shaping up to be a struggle for the heart of our country. Kevin McCarthy personally raised almost $10 million from a big DC fundraiser last week, and my opponent continues to fundraise while promoting far-right social media outlets.

It gives me pause, but I’m confident that we have what it takes to defend the House in the name of workers, families, and communities everywhere.

I’ve even seen some of my Republican colleagues try to take credit for the billions of dollars being appropriated for infrastructure in their states – despite voting against the bill.

I’ll say that again – Republicans who voted against the bipartisan infrastructure bill are now trying to claim it as their own because they know it will be popular with voters regardless of party affiliation.

This is precisely why we can’t let the GOP win, John. They knowingly vote against popular and practical policies because they don’t align with their narrow, extreme ideology – and they’re afraid to go against people like Trump and McCarthy who put partisan politics before what’s best for our country.
