John,
Last night, I spoke with Rachel Maddow on MSNBC about ¡Adiós, Sinema! , Voto Latino’s new six figure campaign against Senator Kyrsten Sinema in the 2024 primaries. If you missed it, you can watch it here: [link removed].
Basically, Senator Sinema doubled down on saving the archaic Jim Crow filibuster that was designed to disenfranchise voters of color despite the fact that Latino and Native American voters quite literally sent her to the Senate. Our democracy is on the line.
Now, I am always impressed when I check in on our fundraising numbers but the amount of support that flooded in last night to help us fight Sinema’s reelection has me floored.
If you were one of the people who contributed: Thank you. Truly. We did not make this decision lightly and to know you have our backs means the world to us.
Make no mistake: Senator Sinema owes her political career to Latino voters. She clearly doesn’t understand that she can’t take that support for granted. Grassroots Latino leaders in Arizona and in Washington repeatedly reached out to Senator Sinema and urged her to protect our constitutional right to cast a vote and have it count. Now voters will have the last word.
Senator Sinema has voted against raising the minimum wage, providing pandemic relief to undocumented immigrants, the Green New Deal, prescription drug pricing reform…the list goes on and on. But voting to support the filibuster in the face of real democratic threats to our nation is on another level that surpasses simple policy differences.
We have a lot of work ahead of us. If you’d like to chip in to help us double our investment against Sinema, you can donate at the link below.

I can’t thank you enough for your support.
