Growing up, my grandmothers were the bosses of our family. Mama Katie and Mama Mary were two tough-as-nails women, and they weren’t afraid of anyone. They taught me to always fight for what’s right and put the steel in my spine to win the toughest fights. 

As attorney general, when I saw the big banks preying on vulnerable families after the 2008 financial crisis, I knew I had to act and I was ready for that fight. I didn’t care how big and powerful they were – I held the banks accountable and forced them to pay $1.9 billion to the Nevada families they hurt. It’s what my grandmothers taught me to do.

When I first ran for Senate, Mitch McConnell and his allies spent over $50 MILLION to defeat me. The pundits and pollsters all doubted that I could win — but I never backed down and I gave as good as I got. On Election Day, I won by 2 points and became the first Latina ever elected to the Senate. It’s what my grandmothers taught me to do.

Now, I’m facing my toughest fight yet. A third new poll shows me trailing my Trump-endorsed opponent, and I’m still $6,112 short of today’s crucial fundraising goal. But with your help, and the fierce fighting spirit I learned from my grandmothers, I know we can win.
