Dear John,

Running for mayor of my hometown was the experience of a lifetime, and I thank you for your support throughout the campaign.

I want to also congratulate Mayor-Elect Kate Snyder for running a positive campaign and for her well-deserved victory on Tuesday night.

Portland has turned the page and I am hopeful for the new chapter we will write, together, with Kate as mayor. There are many challenges facing our city and I am committed to working collaboratively with our new mayor, my city council colleagues, and city staff to get the job done.

Thank you for cheering me on and supporting my campaign. I hope to see you all around Portland soon!
