Hey, Democrats are trying to make voting easier for Americans, and passing H.R. 1, the For the People Act, would take a number of steps toward doing that.
One of those steps would be making Election Day a federal holiday. Unfortunately, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell won't even bring H.R. 1 to a committee vote because he KNOWS making Election Day a national holiday, creating national automatic voter registration, and promoting things like same-day voter registration, early voting, and online registration will all make it harder for Republicans to cheat, steal elections, and win.
It shouldn't be hard to vote, and we should be striving to ensure every American has the chance to participate in our democracy. That's why we're doing whatever it takes to help Democrats pass the For the People Act, but first, we need to know:
