I'm coming to you today to personally ask if you'll split a donation between my campaign and Defeat Republicans before our end-of-month deadline.
But before I get to that, I'd like to share something with you that I'll admit is a bit unconventional:
I'm about to tell you why NOT to vote for me.
I know this isn't exactly your typical stump speech, but please allow me to speak my truth:
No disrespect – although it may be perceived that way – but if Senators Manchin or Sinema are your ideal senators, then I am *not* your candidate.
If you are looking for a candidate that had to "evolve" on core issues like the $15 minimum wage, then don't vote for me.
If you want a candidate that has outdated views on marijuana, then you and I might have to agree to disagree.
If what you think our democracy needs in this pivotal moment is a candidate who's going to get compliments from Mitch McConnell and his sedition-curious GOP, then I am quite simply not your guy.
Here's the thing, John: Right now, some Democrats in the Senate are choosing to stand in the way of bold, transformative, and once-in-a-lifetime legislation. Policies that have the power to lift millions of working people out of poverty, and that actually deliver on President Biden's agenda for American families.
It is my solemn pledge to you that I will not be one of those kinds of senators. I will *always* act with conviction and vote in favor of progress for working families in Pennsylvania + across the country.
John, if you want a Democrat that you can depend on, that you know is always going to stand up and fight for you, and is actually going to vote like a Democrat, then I am humbly asking for your support in our campaign.
So, if you're still in my corner after reading this note, then I have to ask: Will you split a contribution of $25 or more to support our grassroots campaign? I'm relying on all of yinz to have my back before the end-of-month deadline.
If you give me your vote now, then you’ll always have mine in the U.S. Senate. You will always be able to depend on me to have your back and fight for you when I am in Washington.
