Last month, I stood with my fellow teachers in the longest teachers’ strike in Chicago in decades. We made some important gains, like funding to reduce class sizes and increase support staff. Although we didn’t get everything we wanted, we effected change by standing together in solidarity. |

Just this last week, I’ve been standing with Triton College’s mid-managers in their fight against unfair labor practices and for the compensation they richly deserve.
I’m honored that my community calls on me to join them in their fight for what’s right, and I’m proud to stand alongside them. Some might say I should be campaigning rather than standing with these brave men and women, but to me, political representation should be about standing up for and with the people.
These tenets are at the very core of our people-first campaign. We believe in boots on the ground, not propped up on the desk. For too long, IL-07’s Congressman, Danny K. Davis, has had his feet up on the desk while he rakes in the special interest money.
That’s not representation. That’s a scam on his constituents.
That’s why our 100% grassroots campaign rejects ALL corporate PAC and corporate special interest money. Instead, we rely on the support of individuals like you who want to see a brand-new system of government that’s free of corruption and Big Money.
We are here for YOU. We want what’s best for YOU. We stand with YOU.
Together, we’ll create a government that doesn’t fail people so badly that they have to go on strike. We’ll make this a system that works for everyday people, not just the rich.
