John — Republicans have been working to undermine the January 6th Committee since its inception.
Now, Newt Gingrich has even suggested that members of the Committee will face prosecution under a Republican House.
Here’s what Newt said:
"I think when you have a Republican Congress, this is all going to come crashing down, and the wolves are going to find out that they're now sheep and they're the ones who are in fact, I think, face a real risk of jail for the kinds of laws they're breaking."
It is tempting to write off this statement as more GOP absurdity, but Gingrich represents a growing, increasingly vocal contingent of GOP leadership.
On Thursday, The Washington Post reported that Gingrich has been recruited by the House GOP to help build out the Republicans’ midterm strategy. According to the Post, “Senior House Republicans are putting together a list of policy pledges to run on in the 2022 elections, and they are consulting with the architect of one of their biggest historical midterm victories. Newt Gingrich.”
The threat of Republicans taking the House and abusing the power of the majority becomes more potent every day. Will you rush a contribution to protect the House and the January 6th Committee today?
