John,
This week, a total of 400 million n95 masks will now be available for pick
up at thousands of local pharmacies and health centers around the country.
While this is a great first step by President Biden, a one-time action to
make them available will not ensure that everyone has access to the
high-quality, protective masks they need to keep themselves and others
safe for the weeks to come.
Each day, more and more people contract coronavirus and experience its
effects, making our hospitals increasingly likely to be overcrowded and
dangerous.
It has never been more important for the Biden administration and Congress
to go bold and make sure everyone has enough high-quality masks to protect
themselves and others.

By manufacturing and distributing high-quality masks for ALL through the
Defense Production Act, we can ensure that everyone will have access to
the masks they need, not just now, but even months from now when the
current supply is fully used.
The Masks for All Act would:
* Appropriate $5 billion for domestic manufacturing, procurement, and
N-95 respirator distribution
* Require the federal government to procure masks at a reasonable price
* Deliver masks to households via the U.S. Postal Service
* Manufacture and deliver masks in a variety of sizes, including for
children, to ensure proper fit
* Package masks with information on the importance of wearing and proper
use of masks
* Require weekly progress reports to Congress on use of funds and
actions undertaken to eliminate mask shortages
[ [link removed] ]Demand Congress and President Biden pass the Mask for All Act and use
their power to distribute N95 masks to all Americans.
