John,
This weekend, we commemorated the anniversary of Roe v. Wade — the landmark 7-2 Supreme Court decision in 1973 that enshrined the constitutional right to an abortion.
But 49 years later, we’ve never been closer to seeing Roe overturned and along with it, federal protections for reproductive justice eliminated and access to safe, legal abortions restricted.
Barbara, who is Co-Chair of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, is using this moment to build grassroots support for the Women’s Health Protection Act — a bill that codifies Roe and the right to reproductive care, but has stalled in the Senate after passing through the House.
With radical conservatives on the Supreme Court like Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh deciding a case that could jeopardize the future of Roe later this year, it’s never been more urgent for Congress to enshrine abortion rights before it’s too late.
John, will you add your name to Barbara’s petition calling on the Senate to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act without delay? We’re running out of time to act, and we can’t take Roe for granted.
Thanks for signing on,
— Team Barbara Lee
