Letters to veterans, office hours, and voter engagement opportunities
Hey Team Sharice!
With parade season finally over, we've had a chance to catch our breath and reflect on what we've done this summer and fall, from the DCCC battlestation launch party and voter registration events, to a food drive for striking UAW workers at our Fairfax plant and a counter-protest in support of our congresswoman.
And did we mention the parades? Most recently, we joined Rep. Davids in the Turner Days Parade, where she practiced her wobbling skills with the senior class float, high-fived her way down the two-mile route, then ran back to walk part of it over again with the members of Turner High School's Gay-Straight Alliance.
We have a lot coming up, but we first want to offer our gratitude to all of the candidates who ran for local office this year. While not everyone will begin next year as an elected official, everyone who ran took a risk and ran campaigns they can be proud of. Thank you for running; we look forward to continuing to make our communities better every day with you.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Veterans Day
Stop by the DCCC Headquarters on Veterans Day to write letters to deployed service members, veterans, recent graduates, first responders, and wounded heroes and their caregivers.
The DCCC field manager, Helena Buchmann, is going to be hosting office hours around the district this month. Sign up for a slot to chat all things KS-3 at the DCCC Headquarters in KCK or at the Johnson County Democrats HQ in Overland Park.
Join our Voter-to-Voter team! Voter-to-Voter is a new get out the vote project in Kansas that works to increase voter turnout, with an emphasis on citizens who are underrepresented in the political process. We will be hosting a Voter-to-Voter training at the DCCC headquarters at 6pm on November 19.
We always need help keeping our office stocked and supplies and snacks. Sign up to bring something on the third Monday of the month here.
