Last weekend marked the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that affirmed the constitutional right for abortion care for all women.

But right now, reproductive rights are under threat. Ignoring nearly five decades of precedent, the Supreme Court has signalled that they are open to overturning Roe v. Wade — and this year, they are expected to rule on a Mississippi law that would ban abortion after 15 weeks and directly challenges Roe.

At the state level, Republican-led state legislatures have even passed “trigger” laws that immediately go into effect if Roe is overturned, and would ban abortion care for millions of women across the country.

Ben Ray is a proud co-sponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act. He believes that a woman’s right to choose abortion care is constitutionally protected and that family planning should be a decision between doctors and patients — without government interference.

But with a Supreme Court decision looming, we must act now to protect reproductive freedom, and we need your help.

Add your name to support the Women’s Health Protection Act, and help us build a groundswell of grassroots support to protect reproductive rights, codify Roe into law, and get this bill sent to President Biden’s desk.

Restricting access to abortion directly impacts communities of color and low-income individuals, and would be a monumental step backwards in the fight for safe and accessible reproductive health care services for all. That’s why your voice right now is so crucial, and why we’re so thankful for your support.
