Hola, John!

I’m Senator Alex Padilla and about a year ago, I was sworn in as California’s first Latino Senator. Today, I’m proud to be endorsing my friend (and soon-to-be-dad) Josh Harder for re-election.

Josh is running in one of the most competitive districts in the country, and we desperately need him to win so we can keep the House majority. So by the end of this email, I hope you will consider sending in a donation to help Josh win and continue fighting for us in Congress.

Let me tell you why we need Josh. As an original co-sponsor of the DREAM Act, Josh is a key ally for our Latino and immigrant communities. He stood up to Donald Trump and is fighting alongside me to protect immigrant workers, raise the minimum wage, and pass comprehensive immigration reform that includes a pathway to citizenship.

But Republicans in Washington also see a huge opportunity to flip Josh’s seat. They’ve already started targeting Latinos in Josh’s district with dangerous misinformation campaigns. In fact, a new report found that misinformation in Spanish is only caught 29% of the time on Facebook.

Josh and his team are fighting back by organizing earlier than ever before. They have made listening to Latino voices a centerpiece to their campaign and have been aggressively pushing back against GOP misinformation tactics online. I’m confident that Josh’s organizing program (both in-person and online) can be successful as long as he has our continued support.
