John -- We told you time would speed up now that Election Year is here, and it sure has.
Exactly 3 weeks from today early voting starts in Texas for the March 1st primaries, where two more BNC candidates are on the ballot – Jessica Cisneros (TX-28) and Jessica Mason (TX-30).
Not to mention the fact that vote-by-mail ballots are already landing in people’s mailboxes.
Most primaries are decided by the early vote – especially now with more people taking advantage of vote-by-mail and early voting to avoid long lines and big crowds on Election Day.
We need to be in constant contact with voters between now and March 1st to turn out the vote for Cisneros and Mason. But we’re still about $7,000 short of our goal for this month. Will you pitch in $25 now to help us close the gap? If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: The winds are shifting in our favor down in Texas. The conservative, anti-choice Democrat Henry Cuellar (Jessica Cisneros’ opponent) is under federal investigation regarding his dealings with foreign oil magnates and is facing questions about his associated legislation in Congress.
The headlines have brought a wave of fresh attention and energy to Jessica – who very nearly beat Cuellar in 2020.
But we can’t take anything for granted, and we can’t afford to fall short. Remember that Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick won her primary last November by just FIVE votes.
With Cisneros facing a well-funded incumbent under federal investigation, and Mason facing a crowded primary, both elections could be decided by a handful of votes.
Let’s win this.
