We know that Republicans are already receiving donations from big businesses, executives, and the ultra-wealthy. Just this week, GOP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy raised $9.5 million at a D.C. fundraiser he held at the Trump Hotel. The fundraiser hosted more than fifty corporate PACs. And since the GOP relies on dark money donors and corporations with deep pockets, we know there’s more where that came from.
This $9,500,000 single-night fundraising total marks a new record for the House minority leader. Previously, McCarthy’s record haul from one fundraising event was just $350,000. It’s clear that Republicans are energized for the 2022 midterms — and we have to meet this challenge and show that Democrats are ready to compete and win.
