Friend,

Did you see Jay's note?

We know that climate is a winning issue for Democrats, and we need more from our candidates than empty talking points. We need real plans -- and Jay's already created the best one out there, and it's right there ready for them.

WE NEED 2020 CANDIDATES TO COMMIT TO TAKING ON CLIMATE CHANGE, AND WE NEED THEM TO ADOPT JAY'S TRIED-AND-TRUE PLAN TO DO IT: Add your name to call on all the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates to take up Jay's climate plan right now.

Thanks,

Molly

Subject: Add your name: Call on 2020 Democratic presidential candidates to take up my climate plan

Friend,

In one year, our country could look very different -- or it could get even worse.

This week next year, Americans will cast their ballots, and there are essentially two outcomes:

Either we elect a Democrat as our next president and mobilize the power of the United States to create a clean energy economy -- _or_ we have another four years of Donald Trump's campaign of climate denialism and environmental degradation, and we descend further into climate chaos.

If you care about the world that our kids will inherit, there is nothing more critical than beating Donald Trump. But that's not good enough. We must demand more than a "win" -- we must demand that the next president take bold action to defeat the climate crisis. Anything less will spell disaster.

SO MY QUESTION TO ALL THE CANDIDATES IS THIS: IF ELECTED, WILL YOU ADOPT MY CLIMATE PLAN AND PUT THE UNITED STATES ON THE PATH TO DEFEATING CLIMATE CHANGE?

I'm calling on all the 2020 candidates to sign onto my plan to build a clean energy economy, create 8 million new jobs, and ensure our children and grandchildren grow up with clean air and clean water: Add your name to join me.

We can't let President Trump continue to lie and say that climate action means killing American jobs -- the fact is, defeating climate change _is_ a jobs message and will create millions of new jobs across America.

We're already showing the world that climate action is a jobs message here in Washington state, where I just dedicated one of the biggest biofuel refinery operations in the country. And where I recently visited the largest manufacturer of solar panels in North America. These are real jobs -- and this is a message you can argue across the Midwest and up and down the coasts.

Clean energy jobs are growing twice as fast as the average economy. And this is a message that resonates -- so I think this is a winner in every county, every zip code._ I know that a progressive climate change message is how we win -- and it's how we save our planet._

Look, this is a big mountain to climb -- but we can't be paralyzed by the task. November 2020 is the next rock to grab in this climb, and Democrats need to win the presidency. How do they do that? By signing onto my climate plans and proving to voters that they're ready to step up to the plate and save our planet.

Join me in calling on the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates to take up my climate plan, commit to reversing the devastating effects of Donald Trump's presidency, and put American jobs and ingenuity first in ending climate change for good.

Very truly yours,

Jay
