The state Industrial Commission on Friday approved the Class VI storage facility applications for North Dakota-based Minnkota Power Cooperative’s Project Tundra. The project is a $1 billion investment in carbon capture from the Milton R. Young Station in Oliver County, North Dakota.

"We're grateful to Sens. Hoeven and Cramer for helping secure $437 million in federal funding for the FM Area Diversion. This appropriation, along with local funding and the $435 million in state funds we approved for the project included in last year’s historic state bonding package, will advance this much-needed permanent protection against catastrophic flooding," Burgum said.

Gov. Burgum will deliver his rescheduled 2022 State of the State Address at 10 a.m. Feb. 16 at the Fargo Theatre in Fargo. The address will be livestreamed from the Governor’s Office website at www.governor.nd.gov.
