Friend: I am coming up on one of my first big fundraising deadlines of the new year.

Your response to this email will determine whether I enter the election year with the resources to take on Marco Rubio, Mitch McConnell and – truthfully, friend – the entire Republican establishment that's up against me.

I doubt this is the only email landing in your inbox today, but I believe my message to you is unlike anything you'll see today. I hope you'll give it a read.

In big moments like these, even amidst all the hustle and bustle of a battleground Senate race, my mind is often on Jacksonville. On the two-bedroom, A-frame house I grew up in – me, six big siblings and Mom and Dad. Life wasn't easy. Mom was a maid, Dad was a janitor. Although we didn't have a lot, we had each other.

In fact, when my mind goes back to Jacksonville, I often hear the words my mom said to me: "Never grow tired of doing good, Val — never tire." Those words motivated me to get into public service in the first place, and they ring through my soul even today.

My mother's words are why growing tired of doing what's right is never an option for me. They're why I served the people of Orlando as a law enforcement officer and Chief of Police– and why I worked tirelessly to impeach Donald Trump in Congress. And they're the words I hear to this day as I reflect on the urgency of expanding our Senate majority to build back better for the American people.

I know that will be an uphill climb, friend. Flipping Florida's Senate seat blue is Democrats' greatest opportunity to expand our majority – and polling shows me statistically tied with Marco Rubio. But you have my word that I will never tire until we win this race.

My unlikely story of opportunity is proof of what's possible: I will never tire as I work to make sure the greatness of America is accessible and affordable for all Americans. A 50-50 Senate isn't working for you or our country, and it's up to us to expand our majority and secure a future for voting rights, reproductive freedom and all our shared values.

So as I face down one of my first big fundraising deadlines of 2022, I am counting on you and 250 members of this team to donate to become Election Year Members and help me kick off Election Year with the resources I need to win.

Friend, I ask a lot of you because I have so much faith that you'll never tire, either. You know the stakes of this election, so can you donate $5 to become an Election Year Member? Every donor will help me defeat Marco Rubio and expand our Democratic Senate majority.
