Democrats hold the House majority by just a few seats. And because the
sitting president’s party tends to lose more than two dozen seats in a
midterm election, Democrats are playing more defense than offense. Here’s
what Katie says is at stake:

* If we lose the Democratic majority, we lose the ability to oversee and
administer the programs we plan to create this year. We need to hold
our majority so pieces of Biden’s agenda are successfully implemented
and people are able to utilize programs we create.
* If we lose the Democratic majority, corporate PAC money makes a
comeback. In 2018, many of the newly elected Democrats were some of
the first to reject corporate PAC money. It was a pledge that really
shook up Washington, but the number of members who don’t accept
corporate PAC dollars is dwindling, and many of them, including Katie,
are most at risk in 2022.
* If we lose the Democratic majority, it will be much harder to fight
for families—with a Republican majority we won’t be able to pass
legislation that will protect our environment, lower the cost of
healthcare, or address the high cost of childcare. Republicans will
likely reverse the progress we’ve made.

Katie’s race is key to the House majority, and in a district with an equal
