I have a special request.

[ [link removed] ]Will you click this link to help my campaign show Gmail and other email
service providers that you’re still interested in receiving our emails?
(The link will take you to a video we put out on Facebook in the 2018 Blue
Wave election when we won back our House Majority).

Opening this email might not seem like such a big deal to you — but today
it’s hugely important. Just give me a moment to explain.

Recently, some changes to Apple’s privacy policy have made it harder for
us to determine who’s actually reading our emails. We don’t want to be
piling up in your spam folder. So the best way we can decide who to
contact is to see how many people not only open our emails, but also click
on the links within them.

You see, this may come as a surprise, but I actually personally write,
review and edit every single email my team sends to you. I don’t take this
tool that allows me to communicate with folks all across the country for
granted — not for one instant.

You are an important part of our team, and talking with you, and hearing
your priorities, is very important to me.

But there are plenty of folks who will open and close an email just to
clear out their inbox. Again, nothing wrong with that. But I want to make
sure you want to stay involved in what we’re building here, and you can
demonstrate that by clicking this link:

two days before the 2018 election, when we flipped 41 seats and won the
House majority.

We’ve been using the same tool to send you emails for years now, but
recently we moved to a new platform. Email providers like Gmail need to
see that folks are opening and clicking our links so they don’t mark us as
spam in your inbox.

Look, this may sound hyperbolic, but I promise you it’s not. The
difference between a healthy email list and one where we end buried with
junk mail is the difference between a successful campaign and one that
falls short.

With your participation, I’m able to raise the resources not only to hold
my own seat in Congress, but to support so many other important Democratic
incumbents and challengers around the country. I also like to share my
personal thoughts with you on breaking topics and big issues coming before
Congress with you as they happen.

A lot of my colleagues spend their days cold calling wealthy donors from a
windowless room to raise money for their campaigns. It is endless,
grueling, discouraging work and it’s the furthest thing from how Members
of Congress should be spending their time.

But because of you, I can stay focused on doing my job and fighting for
the big priorities that really matter. And again, I need this one small
favor if we intend to keep it that way.

[ [link removed] ]So can you click this link to make sure Gmail and the other big email
providers don’t mark us as spam? It’ll take you to our Facebook page where
you can watch our 2018 GOTV video — an election where we flipped 41 seats
in the House, took back the majority, and put us on the path to the
Democratic majorities that are delivering for the American people today.

Thanks for clicking. You are an important part of my team, and it means a
lot to have folks like you who I can count on.

More soon, and all my best,

Adam

P.S. — Thank you for engaging with our campaign. And if you have some
thoughts to share, please do so. Thanks again.
