Do you support voluntary access to birth control?

Do you support programs to reduce gender-based violence?

How about ending child marriage and female genital mutilation?

All of these questions are no-brainers, but that doesn't stop the no-brainer-in-chief from withholding U.S. funding to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), an organization that addresses all of these issues in over 150 countries around the world. This is the third year in a row that he's refused a single cent in assistance, making the U.S. the only country in the world to withhold support for non-budgetary reasons.

Fortunately, there's a new bill in Congress to restore UNFPA funding, undoing one of Trump's most heinous foreign policy acts.

If your representative is already a cosponsor, we'll give you a thank-you message to send instead. We need to tell progressive champions that they're doing the right thing when they stand up for important issues.

In its 50 years of work, UNFPA has had a real impact all over the world. It supports projects in 150 countries and provides some 20 million people with contraceptives annually. It works to end child marriage, prevent and treat obstetric fistula, and deliver emergency obstetric care in desperate situations.

For example, in the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan, UNFPA has helped deliver more than 11,885 babies without a single maternal death. Given the high rate of complications among refugee populations, this is a remarkable feat--one that should be applauded and rewarded. Instead, Donald Trump ended support for this work.

But we can change that. Sign this letter and ask your representative to cosponsor the Support UNFPA Funding Act (H.R. 4722) and help reverse the Trump administration's disastrous decision!
